Chai had a very difficult life before coming to our class. He suffered abuse from a former owner and was left to freeze in February weather behind a Caribou Coffee. He was malnourished and lost one of his toes. A very kind woman took him home and helped him to recover. She has since allowed our class to adopt him. We have been learning how to take good care of Chai. One way is to make sure he eats the right food to keep him healthy. Guinea pigs are actually herbivores. They eat only vegetables, fruit, hay and grasses. They do not eat meat or dairy products. Since Chai needs a great deal of fresh vegetables and fruit it can be rather expensive to make sure he gets the proper nutrition. If you would like to help us by donating to the "Feed Chai Right Fund" we would be very grateful.
