Dear Parents,As I was preparing for the lesson of Jesus' birth I came upon this paragraph in an old Bible lesson sheet from 1962. I would like to share it with you.
It was the good news of the coming of the Savior that filled the hearts of Mary, Joseph and the shepherds with joy. Center your family Christmas preparations on the coming of Jesus rather then on the coming of Santa Claus. Jesus brought God's gift of love and forgiveness because we have not always been good. How wonderfully different is this fact compared with the fiction of Santa Claus! Santa promises to give on condition of goodness-a frightening thought to a child when one thinks about it.
I would like to encourage all of you to keep your focus on the Lord Jesus' birthday this Christmas. After all it is the real reason for the season.
MAY GOD GRANT YOU ALL A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A JOYOUS NEW YEAR!
